Albert grew up in an artist home, following in the actor footsteps of his father as a young boy. He studies a B DRAMA degree at the university of Stellenbosch, and aquires a Higher Education diploma through UNISA. Albert has since worked for PACT, played leads in leading TV series in Afrikaans and English, has acted in the presence of Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L. Jackson, Juliette Binoche, Jennifer Hudson, Joseph Fiennes, en Diane Kruger. His theatre acting work includes STANDER (one-man show), DIE TONEELSTUK by Breyten Breytenbach, YERMA, ROOIKOPPETJIE (as singer/actor), DIE RYK WEDUWEE, and LAND VAN SKEDELS. He is a reluctant actor for the stage and much prefers film and TV. Here his work includes series which coincided recently on TV as follows: on Tuesday nights, SABC 2 19h30 KONINGS/TORINGS, kykNET 19h30 Thomas, kykNET 20h00 Vloeksteen, kykNET 21h00 Vallei van Sluiers. In June 2013 Albert won the senior category of the poetry competition at the Dutch arts festival in The Hague. In the same week he became one of two winners of the Litnet (web) short story competition. He directs for theatre, and apart for successful one-man shows for Frank Opperman, Ian Roberts, Marion Holm and others, his highlights are Faan se Trein(KKNK en Aardklop – Mees populêre produksie2005), Faan se Stasie (KKNK, Aardklop, Innibos, Kunstekaap and Durbanville 2006), Taraboemdery (Innibos Beste Kunstenaar 2010), ’n Seder val in Waterkloof (Innibos - Mees populêre produksie2011), Mooi Maria (Aardklop Beste regisseur, Beste aktrise, Beste Afrikaanse produksie2011), Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey (Fleur du Cap Beste regisseur, Beste Akteur en Mees populêre produksie2011), Die Van Aardes van Grootoor (Innibos, KKNK en Durbanville). en mees onlangs Playland (ATHOL FUGARD in AFRIKAANS), en Frats (Innibos) and the latest – Pa maak vir my ‘n vlieër, Pa (Innibos) Albert has also directed show for TV.
