Jako Meyer completed a drama course in 2009 headed by Drikus Volscheck. He then also did extensive drama courses with Playhouse Theatre under Nacia Kruger as well as Acting On Camera under Jacques Bessenger en Lelia Etsebeth. He was part of The Alabama Student Company, a PUK revue group that toured nationwide adding his name as former alumni of the group amongst Rina Hugo, Danie Niehaus, Helene Bester and Johan van Rensburg. Jako was also part of Veritas Men's Hostel sêr group in 2005, making their way to the National Serenade Finals in Stellenbosch that year. In 2006, he became a member of band, Flip A Coin. From 2006 to 2009 Jako entered into the music scene as lead singer for The Rottweilers . During 2007 and 2008 the band formed part of the MK Avontoer and performed at the KKNK and Innibos festivals. In 2010 Jako performed in first stage production in the role of KoIb in the African musical Boegoe Van Die Liefde- written by award-winning poet Griqua, Professor Hans du Plessis with music by Lize Beekman and Franco Prinsloo . Boegoe Van Die Liefde gained national acclaim perforing at the Volksblad and Aardklop festivals in 2010 and at the Stellenbosch Woordfees in 2011. Jako then performed in the Artèma Production, Persreën, as soloist with full symphony orchestra alongside Amanda Strydom and Jan Blohm. Persreën was a tribute show about the life of Johannes Kerkorrel. This show also went to Potchefstroom and Aardklop in 2010. Also in 2010, Jako formed the group, Moses Metro Man and released their first single Gerig Op Ruimte free in November that year. Jako is still the leading singer for the group. To date his band, Moses Metro Man has flourished with their album Konstellasies and won the MK MVP award for their single Samoerai as well as best newcomer. They have been nominated for the Ghoema, and Tempo Awards. In various categories. Jako has gone from strength to strength performing is various stage musicals including Deon Opperman’s Tree Aan! - Die Grensoorlog Musiekspel, Sone Combrinck’s Jesus - Die Musiekblyspel as well as Geselskap. His television credits to date include Donkerland on kykNET as well as Bloed Broers airing on kykNET in 2015. Jako will soon be release his first solo album and his first single Brief In Die Reën wa featured in the kykNET series, Sterlopers.
