Rendani is a humble and vibrant young man who’s passionate about music, dance and drama,Rendani matriculated from Kingsway High School in 2012 and is currently studying at AFDA Cape Town pursuing a BA degree in Live Performance(Screen Acting & Music). Although Rendani does not speak any ethnic languages he considers himself to be twenty five percent of every racial group in South Africa and this lifestyle has made him easily adaptable to any audience group and a unique asset in society who brings diversity to those around him. Rendani is a triple threat performer who started playing the drums at the age of 9 and is currently learning the piano. He has played leading roles in all his high school productions ranging from 2009 in GREASE, 2011 in Mama Mia and 2012 in Dream Girls. Rendani’s high school involvement in the performing arts department played a huge role and saw him hosting school events. 2012 was a great year for Rendani as he had the opportunity to be apart of the PANSA and Rainbow Young Performers project and worked with renowned director Themi Venturas in Legally Blonde the musical. Another highlight for Rendani was when he was selected as one of the top six finalists for the national Nedbank/DALRO/ Arts and Cultures Trust Scholarship competition. Reporter and Comedian Carvin H Goldstone also saw potential in Rendani and invited him to do a few stand up comedy events in the year of 2012 in Durban which inspired him and showed more diversity in this young performer and saw him continuing his stand up comedy act in 2013 in Cape Town. Rendani has done choreography for Crown Award winning Gospel artist Shaun P for the music video of his title track “Everyday of My life”. He has also shared the stage with some of Durban’s top musicians and had the opportunity to open for Loyiso Bala with his church band at a national youth conference in 2012. Rendani has strong leadership abilities that have been seen in his community, church and school. Learning from experienced artists has helped him in his confidence as a performer. In 2014 Rendani was head hunted by PANSA and the Young performers Project to play the leading role of Ren in their production of Footloose The Musical.
