Siyalini has been trained in ballet from the age of 6 and freestyle dance from 7. At the age of 7 she came 1st for both her solos, slow dance and fast at the South African Championships. At that point she was bitten by the competition bug.
In 2013 she competed in Denmark representing South Africa as part of a formation team, small group(11 and under) and performing a solo.
Her chosen instrument is the drums and weekly lessons have been attended for the past 4 years.
She has a very high level of drama at school and she has always manages to secure major roles in her school productions. In Grade 1 she played Shanti in the Jungle book, in Grade 3, the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland, and great dance roles in Grades 4 and 5. She was also part of a choir that accompanied Arno Carstens at the Barnyard Theatre.
Siyalini’s energy is contagious when you watch her dance, and she is very expressive through this. She is always up for a challenge and quite eager to learn new skills. She works very hard to perform at her best and she always picks herself up from disappointment in the same light as she shines under the spotlight.
