Paola started drama lessons during 2016 with ADA Drama Academy as a shy little girl and quickly fell in love with being on stage. She qualified to participate in the South African Championships of Performing Arts in August 2016 and 2017. It is only during 2017 when Paola truly realised her passion and went on to participate in the South African Talent Championships (SATCH) where she played the role of an “Undercover LA Cop” and “Mr Mosquito”. She captured her audience by appearing to be an innocent, shy little girl, with a voice and acting skills that demanded attention. During 2018, Paola enrolled with Boss Drama Studio and stepped into new challenges with ease. She took on seven drama performances and two dances and achieved high marks at the Eisteddfod and SATCH by portraying different characters. She was awarded item winner in five different categories and received a National Top 10 Senior Acting award. She especially received warm feedback in her role as a mentally disable child in “Liewe Jesus Pêrels” and had the audience at her feet with her delightful performance as a contestant in the “Miss Brakpan” play in which she had to portray a very self-assured Beauty Pageant contestant in a comedy. Paola is no stranger to the camera, she won a school competition to perform in a TV competition presented by KykNou! She performed in a Duet-Dance and two school plays on camera. Paola enjoys combining her acting and dancing talent. For the last 2 years, her School has also participated in the Lefra Revue competitions, where she was an active participant, recognising long hours of practice to success. Paola took up an opportunity from January – June 2018 to be a student at the Talent Initiative program presented by Mandi du Plooy Baard, well known South African actress from Binnelanders and 7e Laan. The opportunity gave her much needed insight into an acting career and strengthened her passion to be a forceful and passionate actress. Paola is a passionate Rhythmic Gymnast since 2015. She is a graceful dancer and takes every step with confidence and perseverance. She took 12th place at the National SAGF competition in 2018. Paola’s passion to work with small children was unveiled earlier in 2018 whereby she had an opportunity to become an Assistant Gymnastics Coach. She believes that she can assist young talent with her dance and acting skills in realising their potential. She also assist the School play and Revue group with choreography-ideas and produce her own dances for the SATCH competitions. Paola is a warm and outgoing person with a passion for the stage where she feels ‘home’. Paola is attentive in that an acting career requires hard work in achieving her goals. She hopes to make a career of acting combined with her love for dance and performing for others, she is a natural performer.
