liza theron

From an early age Liza showed exceptional talent at acting, singing and dancing. Together with a friend they would put on little dancing and singing shows for the family and later this would carry on with her sister. She has from an early age shown a love for musicals and shows, and enjoys watching comedies. She speaks English, Afrikaans and German fluently and loves imitating accents. Already in pre-school she would get leading roles at concerts, even singing a solo in Grade R at the Christmas Concert. When she was in Grade 1 she was the only child in the foundation phase landing a lead role, that of the Baby Elephant in the Primary school’s production of The Jungle Book. When Liza was in Grade 4 the school had its next production, Charlotte and the Chocolate Factory. Again she was in the cast, playing one of the main Oompah Lumpas. She also sang a solo verse in the schools final pre-recorded song Heal the World. She is not shy to recite a poem or sing in front of an audience. Liza is a member of Paarl Playhouse and is currently on her 7th level in the Junior Professional Acting Course. She thoroughly enjoys being part of this acting school. Liza has taken part in the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod Poetry Section every year since Grade 1. Here she received Cum Laude (above 90%) twice and Gold plus (above 85%) twice. In Grade 1 and 2 she was also entered for Solo Singing where she received Cum Laude on both occasions. In Grade 1 she was also entered for the English poetry section at the Stellenbosch Eisteddfod where she received the Trophy for Best Performance in Grade 1. Liza has in the past taken horse riding lessons, gymnastics, modern and free style dancing lessons, as well as two years of flute. She loves her school sports of tennis, hockey and netball as well as her art lessons at school. She likes reading and has always been in the top 10 of her grade academically. She recently also came second in her Grade in the spelling competition organized for the schools of Paarl by the Western Cape Education Department's District office. Her friends describe her as a friendly, intelligent, artistic, smart, loving, funny and caring person who has good sportsmanship and no fear of the stage.
