Sasha has always had a passion for theatre and even as a little girl, she knew she wanted to be on stage. She studied Musical Theatre at Technikon Pretoria and earned her degree specializing in singing and acting in 2005. Sasha started off her career with children’s theatre under the guidance of Gill Gerard and Keith Smith and quickly moved on to PIT Productions (Professional Intelligent Theatre Co). Her first professional production was “Dis hoe dit was, die Steve Hofmeyr Storie” in 2007 where Deon Opperman gave her the opportunity to play Dana Winner. Since then, she has done various productions for Packed House Productions, all directed by Deon Opperman including “Ons vir jou Suid-Africa” where she played De la Rey’s daughter, Meisie, for 4 seasons and in “Lied van my hart”, she portrayed the role of the quirky hairdresser, Sandre. She’s also worked for Pieter Toerien in the funny musical “Nunsenstions” where she played Sister Mary Amnesia both at the Pieter Toerien Monte Casino Theatre as well as at the Theatre on the Bay in Camps Bay. In 2008 she had the opportunity to play a more serious role in the Afrikaans drama “n Tyd om lief te he” with Jan Groenewald and Dawid Louw. Sasha loves children and she enjoyed co-writing for “Teddies” for KOOWEE, Kyknet’s children channel. She’s also done many voice overs and some of the most recent campaigns include, ”Slender Wonder”. She also enjoyed recording the training manual for “Nele nail academy” as a video training course during 2016. Sasha did the “Acting on Screen” course during June 2014 and is very excited about what the future may hold. Sasha is excited for the release of “Kampterrein” in March 2017 where she’ll be seen strutting her stuff as the quirky Pop. Sasha took a break from the performing arts in 2013 to 2016 to have her two baby boys, but she is excited for what this year will hold.
