Diamond was born in December 1986. She spent her high school years at East Rand School of the Arts, in Daveyton, Benoni and then moved to Tshwane University of Technology in pursuance of her tertiary education in drama. She was employed as a fieldworker at the South African State Theatre under development, teaching and training community arts groups in Pretoria for four years where she sharpened her directing skills directing plays in the Mzansi Fela Festival In 2009 she alongside co-worker Kakanyo Pilane won the best group under Children’s Theatre in the Mzansi Fela Festival. In 2011 she directed the play This Is for Keeps which received great reviews. In 2012 she directed Ngugi wa Thiong’o’s The Black Hermit which also had a successful three week run at the State Theatre. Diamond has also done a number of drama workshops for various projects like Ukutipa Community Arts Projects.
