Vibrant, energetic, hardworking and talented. Marilise believes that “passion fuels purpose, hard work gets rewarded”. Her first memory is one of reenacting scenes from the TV show ‘Days of our lives’ at the age of 5 and portraying the role of Red Riding Hood in her pre-primary graduation show. Acting has always been in her blood and soul. During her school career, Marilise participated in Arts Festivals, her school musical My Fair Lady and singing in an all-girls choir, Bellisima. She studied Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of the Free State (2013-2015), during which she received a scholarship to attend the New York Film Academy. Her first love has always been the stage but she also enjoys film work. A film performance as Ester in Katrina(2015) fueled her passion even more. She believes that a good performer is one who is versatile. She is skilled in the technical aspects of theatre, physical theatre, as well as producing. She sings and dances as well. Marilise’s stage performances include ‘Louise’ in Agt Vroue(2015), ‘Emmie Webb’ in Ons Dorp(2014), ‘Puck’ in 'n Midsomersnagdroom(2014), ‘Kid’ in Lyle, Lyle the Crocodile, ‘Lady’ in Puss and Boots and ‘Self’ in Stof (2015/2016) and along side entertainment legends Sharleen Surtie Richards and Paul Luckhoff as ’Emma Komoetie’ in Fiela se Kind (2017). She likes to try new things and gain any new skill when not in front of the camera or on stage. Marilise wishes to become an affluential trailblazer in the entertainment industry.
